What Can I Expect?

Sky Your first consultation (2-3 hours) will begin with detailed questions about your main concerns. If these are physical health problems, I ask about how you are affected mentally and emotionally—to understand what it is like for you to live with the condition. Then we expand from your main concerns and review your personal and family health history, recurring illnesses or problems. You will be pleasantly surprised at how unhurried and thorough this process is.

I will want to know, as thoroughly as I can, your personal experience of the illness or condition being treated—the holistic understanding. At the end of the consultation, I'll ask if you have any additional questions and then discuss how the homeopathic remedy will be prescribed and taken, and how you are likely to respond.

We will also discuss any prescribed drugs you are taking. I will not change these, but will discuss when you might return to your GP to lower dosage. I usually insist that you be feeling much better before I suggest any changes to your current medication, and that your GP or specialist must make any changes. I have found that GPs are usually happy to consider medication changes once they realize your condition has improved.

Your remedy may not be administered immediately. I have access to over 1,000 remedies, and use computer software to aid in the analysis of what’s best for you. Normally, I do this work after the consultation. Accuracy with the first remedy is vital to the success of treatment.

After you take your remedy, we will follow up in about a month to assess response and progress. Then, as your condition improves, we’ll increase the length of time between consultations.

Common remedies

We often use tissue salts for 30-90 days to work at the cellular level to support the deeper work in other areas.

We may use Bach Flower Essences for up to 90 days continuously.

Occasionally we treat directly with the classically prescribed, single dose of remedy alone. Remedies are administered under the North American Society of Homeopaths Code of Ethics and Rules of Practice. Single dose remedies are prepared according to FDA guidelines. They may be taken as often as weekly at the outset of treatment, but frequency typically declines from once per month to four times a year. This is the core, the essence of the treatment—the classically prescribed homeopathic remedy—seeking to understand your illness at its root level in wholeness.
